Creativity in my own words- Creativity is being able to transform or create ideas for an alternate use of a prexisting object or create an new invention completely. Or in other words thinking out of the box or thinking in a unique and exciting way ( trying something new ). Actual definition of Creativity:the ability to transcend traditional ideas, rules, patterns, relationships, or the like, and to create meaningful new ideas, forms, methods, interpretations, etc.; originality, progressiveness, or imagination

Straw Tower Projects

1) We used a single massive tower to try and reach our goal.

2) One problem we encountered during this project was the lack of enough tape to sustain us throughout the whole progress the second was the straws were not ridged enough during the last few feet of the tower, and not enough time.

3) We tried to reinforce the straws with more straws and it seemed to be working quite well and we doubled up the straws to make them more ridged.

4) We definatly could have used more tape and more time.

5) I think our tower was succesful in the fact that we were inches from reaching our goal with a little more time and effort we would have obtained our goal.

Our project was to make a paper structure that could hold the most amount of weight

1.) what i gathered from this project strength does not lie in the " hands of a single individual but in the hands of many"

contributing to the strength and stability of a structure, creating a solid foundation similar to that of our government

The lower structures fair better against resisting the temptation of toppling towards the table, today.

Our idea lacked the ridgity of joes idea but mostly failed due to the lack of balance thus a lower more ridged structure would have shined

Chardboard chair project 1.) I think this project will be difficult due to the lack of strength and ridgidity of the cardboard. their are many disigns to choose from including the traditional chair or abstract variations of a chair. The decision on the chair design could possibly make or break the way our chair holds up. We've chosen a chair that lacks the normal 4 leg design and we are going with a design that incorperated strength and versatility in to the chair, allowing us to use it for the intended purpose of holding up under the pressure of an object that weighs a few times more than the structure it's self.

external image otto-cardboard-chair.jpg external image IMG_0499.JPG The only problem with the cardboard chair project is the height, the higher it is the less stable it is but the lower the chair is the more unconfortable it is for someone to sit on.

our design has proven to be quite stable and actually very comfortable an can easily support a person of any weight.

our design has a very high back for neck support and is relatively high off the ground so the person's legs are not supporting their body weight in any way which allows the person to fully relax and enjoy the eronomically designed chair with all comfort in mind. The only flaw in our design was it needed more cardboard than we were provided but all in all the chair project was a great success and we managed to finish the chair quickly and efficiently.
